Aug 11, 2023 @ 12:00 pm
Welcome to a new monthly feature in The Hip Hop Museum newsletter. Each month, we will speak to someone about what Hip Hop means to them.
This month, we spoke with Michelle McDevitt. Michelle is President and co-founder of Audible Treats, one of the most prominent and influential music public relations firms. Audible Treats has clients who include some of the biggest names in Hip Hop and music, including Chief Keef, Central Cee, Rich the Kid, Lupe Fiasco, E-40, and many more.

Audible Treats is also the PR agency for Rolling Loud, Hip Hop’s biggest music festival.
“I’m lucky to be a guest in the space, but Hip Hop is the soundtrack of my life. It’s hours spent memorizing lyrics and the birthday cash saved to buy music. It’s nights spent making memories in clubs and at house parties. It’s making mixtapes and playlists for friends and lovers, unforgettable road trips, and even half my costume wedding theme. It’s my livelihood as the co-founder of a PR firm that spent the first 15 years focused solely on Rap music.
Hip Hop isn’t just a genre; it’s a lifestyle, a culture filled with stories of hustles, dreams, triumphs, heartbreak, and unapologetic perspectives. It claims space where none was provided. This art form, born from the creative minds of Black Americans in The Bronx, continues to be a powerful force that evolves and inspires 50 years after its inception. I consider myself incredibly lucky and grateful to be a part of amplifying its voice.”
