The Bronx, N.Y …The 2022 Class of Cultural Ambassadors for the Universal Hip Hop Museum have been
announced! An illustrious group of recognized Hip Hop icons have pledged to devote a year supporting
the UHHM. Among them are creatives who range from chart topping recording artists, cultural thought
leaders, journalists, and film/television personalities. This year’s Cultural Ambassadors are Bevy Smith,
MC Lyte, Heather B, Kwame Holland, Groovy Lew, Rob Love, Niki D, Troy “Smack White” Mitchell,
Sheena Lester, YoYo, The Sequence, Lady B, and Rakim.

These icons are joining the UHHM at a critical juncture as the institution has garnered unprecedented
fiscal support from NY City and State elected officials. These artist ambassadors are considered
“architects” of the culture and are noted for their respective influence and continued contributions to
Hip Hop culture. “The UHHM is honored to welcome its 1st class of Cultural Ambassadors. “Each of these
individuals brings a unique perspective and their own contributions to the historical rise of the culture of
Hip Hop,” said Mark Green, UHHM’s advisory board member and Chair of the Artist Relations
Committee.

The UHHM welcomes their support as we celebrate the official 1st anniversary of our groundbreaking
with the official “Topping Off” construction ceremony of our home, as the NYC Council designated
“cultural anchor” of the mixed-use waterfront project Bronx Point in the South Bronx, NY. They each will
lend their support by promoting the fundraising drive to build the permanent home of the UHHM
opening in 2024 at Bronx Point. “The 2022 class of Cultural Ambassadors have left a lasting impact on
the culture of Hip Hop and know the importance of the museum institution that we are building for
future generations,” said Rocky Bucano, Executive Director and Founder of the Universal Hip Hop
Museum.

This year each Ambassador will appear at a public event or activation of their choice. Additionally, they
will promote the museum across their social media networks. The goal is to engage their audiences
everywhere, to let them know that donations and memberships are what makes the UHHM also “their
museum.” To support their efforts, the UHHM is taking the Hip Hop Roadshow to 5 U.S. cities starting
with Los Angeles during Black Music Month.

The global culture of Hip Hop celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023. The UHHM’s Cultural Ambassadors
are authoritative voices uniquely qualified to explain why the creation of this museum is important to
lovers of Hip Hop culture. From its roots in the Bronx to its worldwide influence, the Cultural
Ambassadors have played a role in its growth and expansion into the phenomenon that it is today.
