MICHAEL HOLMAN – GUEST CURATOR

Through writings, film & television productions and talent bookings, Michael Holman helped propel Hip Hop onto the global stage. Holman managed Rock Steady Crew and The New York City Breakers and created and hosted the first nationally syndicated Hip Hop television show Graffiti Rock. Holman formed the band Gray with Jean-Michel Basquiat and wrote the screenplay to the Marimax feature film, Basquiat. Holman taught filmmaking and media courses at Howard University, The New School, the School of Visual Arts and Pace University. The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts acquired Holman’s Archive and the Smithsonian African American Museum acquired choice Holman artifacts.
